April 29th, 2012One of the growing trends in the world of caps is the Snapback cap. Snapback caps have a snap closure on the back. Allowing you to adjust the size. These retro caps are a throw back to the 80′s and 90′s. They were replaced with fitted caps but like everything else have regained popularity. They often have a green underbill. We think they are here to stay for awhile. And like all of our caps are easy to customize with your logo or sports team logo.

Why do we offer Organic Caps?
April 27th, 2012- It is environmentally responsible
- It is a healthier product
- It is more durable and softer.
Buying organic promotes a fundamental change in the way we treat the environment around us. The problem with traditional cotton is that producers use insecticides, herbicides and synthetic fertilizers to grow it. Organic cotton is grown without the use of harmful chemicals such as pesticides and herbicides.
The use of these chemicals can damage soil health/fertility over time. The impact on the environment is profound. But if those two factors do not convince you wait until you feel how soft organic cotton can be. Soft and durable a great combination. We are happy with our decision to offer more and more organic caps and visors. What is the difference between a Hat & a Cap?
March 19th, 2012A CAP is a brimless head covering with or without a visor. Examples: a baseball cap has a visor to protect eyes from the sun; a ski cap is a knitted head covering without a visor.
A HAT is a head covering, usually with a crown and a brim. Examples: a fedora has a crown with a crease and a brim; a top hat has a flat top crown and a brim.
A visor only extends around the front of the hat while a brim completely encircles the hat.
How to wash your Baseball Cap
March 19th, 2012Things You’ll Need; Laundry detergent & an old toothbrush.
Basic Instructions
1) Fill your sink with lukewarm to warm water.
2) Add about 1/4 cup of laundry detergent to the water. Only use laundry detergent with bleach on baseball caps that are white. Otherwise you will stain your baseball cap. It’s alright to eyeball it if you don’t have any measuring utensils at your disposal.
3) Place the baseball cap in the sink. Let the cap sit in the water for about a half hour or so.
4) Use the old toothbrush to scrub the baseball cap while leaving the hat in the water. You’ll want to scrub particularly hard in the areas where the hat is stained.
5) Rinse all the soap thoroughly off of the baseball cap.
6) Hang the baseball cap in a dry space or in front of a fan in order to dry the cap. You may want to wash your baseball cap in the evening so that it can dry overnight.
How to Shape your Baseball cap the way you like it…
March 19th, 2012The best way to shape a hat first off can refer to two things. It can refer to the actual shape of the cap, which the best way to shape that is to get in the shower and then wear it afterwards until it dries. That way it will shape perfectly to your head. As far as shaping the brim, there, it depends on what type of style you would like your brim. If you would like it straight, then one tip for that would be to put a cloth over top of it, put it on your ironing board and run the iron across it. Therefore, making your hat completely straight as you would prefer it. If you would like your hat to be bent and your brim to be bent, now that depends on how much you would like it bent. Also as you get your hat wet, the actual cap and the bill come in two separate types of material. If your brim gets wet, sometimes that can cause the brim to get flexible, causing it to disshape and causing you some problems as far as the way you would like it shaped. If you would like your brim to be really really curved, a great way is to get a baseball, put a baseball inside the brim and to curve it around it and then wrap your brim with a rubber band. That way it’s going to make your bill stay that way for a longer period of time. Let it rest overnight or even for a couple of days, therefore shaping your hat the way that you would like it.
How popular are baseball caps these days?
February 13th, 2012Everybody wears baseball caps. Along with blue jeans, the baseball cap has made its way into popular culture, not just in the USA but also across the entire planet.
Look around you, watch the news, read the paper, drive through the neighborhood or just look out the window, chances are you’ll see someone wearing a baseball cap.
It doesn’t matter what your gender is, race, color, age, or occupation; there’s at least one time in your life that you’ve worn a baseball cap. It doesn’t even matter what part of the world you live in.
In 1860, the Brooklyn Excelsiors wore the ancestor of the modern rounded-top baseball cap, and by 1900, the “Brooklyn style” cap became popular. During the 1940s, latex rubber became the stiffening material inside the hat and the modern baseball cap was born. The “bill” or “brim” was designed to protect a player’s eyes from the sun. Typically, the brim was much shorter in the earlier days of the baseball hat. Also, the hat has become more structured, versus the overall “floppy” cap of the 19th and early 20th centuries. The baseball cap was and still is an important means by which to identify a team. Often the logo, mascot, or team’s initial was placed on the cap. Usually, the cap was also fashioned in the official colors of a particular team.
More recently, wearing baseball caps has become a fashionable thing to do. They’re worn backwards, tilted to the side or inside out for those who really want attention. The bill can be curved or very flat depending on the statement you want to make. The bill may even be filed or sanded to achieve that worn-out look.
How to Clean your Baseball Caps
February 2nd, 2012Whether you wear a baseball cap for work or play, there may come a time that it needs a bit of cleaning. But before you start, take time to look at the little tag on the inside to get an idea of what fiber content and any manufacturer’s cleaning instructions. Of course, your tag may be gone or unreadable and caps made before 1983 didn’t require a tag. So, we’ll cover instructions for safe cleaning of almost any cap.
Cleaning Cotton or Man-Made Fiber Newer Baseball Caps
Newer baseball caps are often made of cotton twill, cotton polyester blends or jersey mesh. These fabrics are strong and durable and usually colorfast. New caps use a plastic form to shape the brim, not cardboard. These plastic forms can withstand a wash without becoming deformed.
To clean, pretreat exceptionally dirty areas with an enzyme-based laundry stain remover. Wash the cap with the rest of similarly colored clothing in cool water. Do not use bleach. If you are very concerned with protecting the shape of the cap, you can use a specially designed hat form and toss it in the washer. Allow the cap to dry in the form or over a coffee can or other head-shaped container. Do not put baseball caps in the dryer.
You have probably heard of washing caps in the dishwasher on the top rack. I would not recommend this because dishwasher detergents are quite harsh and often contain bleach that can ruin your cap. And, the high temperatures are not good for the fabric and may cause shrinkage.
Cleaning Newer Wool Baseball Caps
Wool caps should be handwashed using cool water and a mild detergent designated for wool. Be gentle and don’t scrub or twist the fibers. Rinse well in cool water and roll gently in a thick towel to absorb most of the moisture. Allow to air dry on a head-shaped object. If you dry your wool cap on your own head, it will dry to the precise shape of your head.
Cleaning Older or Commemorative Baseball Caps
Commemorative caps should always be stored in a covered case to prevent dust and grease from accumulating on the cap. These should only need a light dusting or brushing to keep them at their best. Always store away from direct light and intense heat.
If a deeper cleaning is needed, first do a colorfastness test. Using a white cloth with a bit of mild detergent, gently rub an inconspicuous area of the cap. If there is color transfer, do not proceed. If it is colorfast, continue using the cloth to clean the entire hat. Do not immerse the hat in water. The bill may be shaped using cardboard that will dissolve. Rinse your cloth in clean water to “rinse” the cap. Air dry on a head-shaped container.
